As I chow down Del Taco :-)

Well... while I am in a little bit of a break, I thought I would blog a little about this week! What a week! Grad school is very challenging. They certainly hit the ground running and are expecting us to catch up pretty quick here. I'm hanging on but I have 3 quizzes next week and we are only allowed 1 C for the entire time we are in the program. Eeep! Nannying is also a challenge. It's a lot of work being a pseudo mommy of 2! I felt so old when I dropped Alexa off for kindergarten! I thought to myself "Man, I didn't think I'd be doing this anytime soon" and of course they all thought I was mommy because I've been the only one to drop her off and pick her up. I think that's hilarious! haha. It is definitely satisfying the mommy itch for me. I come home so tired and am so thankful to crawl into bed and turn the "mommy" switch off. My whole props to Kay who doesn't get an off switch and is amazing at being mommy :-) I am enjoying my weekends off! What an amazing feeling to be able to look forward to it all week. Derek and I went with dad to Disneyland on Friday and watched Fantasmic and the Fireworks and then I got to cook dinner and have a night in watching classic movies on Saturday and today Harrison took Erin, me and mom to the Angel's game to watch them beat the White Sox! Fun stuff! Now I'm back into study mode (I think the difficult part of weekends is coming back down to reality).

Only one more piece of news. My old girlfriends from work asked me to join their team for the Great Urban Race in San Diego in October. It's pretty much a duplicate of The Amazing Race from tv. I am so excited to be apart of the fun! You dress in funny costumes and complete clues racing around the city taking pictures of the destinations with a camera and running to the finish line with your pictures. All we need is a team name.

Back to Del Taco! :-)

My LAST Day Waitressing EVER!

The Marsden Family

It finally came, my last day at Orange Hill. It was a very bittersweet experience having to leave all my friends but I am so excited to be ending this chapter in my life that has lasted 6 years! I had a very nice evening. I got very spoiled by my managers who bought me many tasty desserts to share with everyone, and my bartender who made me very delicious smoothies, and had so much fun informing my last table sat that they were my very last customers (they got VERY excited). My Marsden family also came in and sat in my section and a few friends dropped in as a surprise too :-) I think I was on more of a high this night then at graduation.... haha... now I can go in and visit all my friends and enjoy desserts on the balcony! No complaints here!

The Last Days of Summer...

Two trips which were the highlights of my summer would have to be our cruise to Canada and my fun week with the Ridges in Utah! Even though they insist they are boring, I had the most fun playing board games, watching Michael giggle, and enjoying some of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. It was so nice finally seeing where Kay has been all these years!!
My welcome home flowers:-) He said i picked him a daisy!
Couldn't get this one flipped... still cute though!

This summer has flown by so quickly!! With the fear of losing my entire life to grad school in a week, I'm trying to make the best of very moment :-) Derek has been whisking me off on wonderful dates and dinners and we have been playing around at Disneyland, Sea World, and around the Long Beach harbor. I'm excited to start school but not ready for all of the fun to stop!!!

Exploring Chapman's campus :-)

I'm a little late in posting these, but Christina and I went and explored Chapman's campus the day we found out we were accepted:-) They all looked at us like we were tourists but that's okay!

P.S. I CAN'T wait to see you Kay!

My Next 2 Years...

I'm going to Chapman!! Gosh, this has been a dream since high school (did you know that they still had the application that I submitted senior year? Ha!) I am going to the campus soon to buy my official sweatshirt and talk to the financial aid lady. I will put pictures of the campus, it's beautiful!

My Chapman Interview

I had my interview for Chapman University's graduate program for communication disorders and I think it went really well! My interviewers started by asking me the generic questions on their sheets and we ended the interview with me going on about my ideas for research projects and reading programs that I'd like to implement when I become a professional! They seemed to like my ideas and were getting as excited about them as I am. At the end of the interview she said that they would be getting back to me soon but that she hoped I would accept the offer to join the program if I was accepted (I think that's a good sign!) So, now the question is: Who is going to give me $32,000? ha! On that note, I am back to working on my scholarship application!! ;-)

Here is my awesome interview outfit complete with cute heels! I felt like I was ooooold :-)
