Thanksgiving

I am currently sitting in the Peer Mentor Center as an "official peer mentor" with no one to mentor, so instead I'm writing here!  I'm sorry to report there are no pictures on this school computer to post of Toby Pickles or anything else that is fun and exciting but I thought I would write about my preThanksgiving dinner I am cooking for all my in-laws on Wednesday! My first Thanksgiving cooking all on my own, I'm scared. HA. So far the menu includes:

Homemade Lasagna (veggie and meat)
Homemade eggrolls with Tofu and (Dorothy Lynch!)
Corn Fritters
Fumi salad
Crescent rolls with pesto
Homemade pecan pie w/ Vanilla ice cream!

Sounds yummy yes? I think it is the perfect opposite of everything that is going to be served the next day=)  I'll post pictures of the feast when I am done, especially since this is the first time we get to use our wedding china!

Update on school: I am only going to apply to 3 programs and if I don't get in SLPA job and babies here I come! So far, I think the 3 will be: 1. Chapman University 2.  Cal State Fullerton, 3.  Cal State Long Beach. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Halloween and life

One more quick breath from studying fluency disorders (e.g. stuttering) so I thought I would jump on here and keep my word to keep this thing up to date! Tons has happened in the last month but all I can seem to remember is Friday! I was supposed to work but got called off, which so happens was the most awesome thing that could've happened since Derek had a morning shift and was home by 3:00! So, I rushed to Target picked up one guy flick (Blades of Glory) and one chick flick (PS I love you), ordered some pizza and appetizers and picked out a costume to greet the trick or treaters in (my veil)... haha... I almost put on the whole dress but that seemed like WAY too much work. Toby dressed up as a train engineer (she had a red bandana around her neck). All in all, it was one of the best nights we've had together in a long time (mostly because we never get nights alone together). My only gripe is that we did not get one trick or treater, not one! I had vowed that if we got one kid coming up to the door they were going to get the whole bowl of candy... but it never happened... boo. Everything else has been going pretty good lately, it seems like the semester is just flying by.. I sign up for my classes for next semester tomorrow, I only have to take 3 classes and then I'm done with my bachelor degrees!! I'm debating on being the vice president for association again next year or just being lazy with my 3 classes and maybe donate my time in a clinic or hospital? Sigh... I want to be lazy. Anywhooooo, I'm back to the books! (joy).

Day one...

Just one of the many awesome ideas I have been given by Kay. Of course, I picked the most uneventful day to create my blog. Besides the usually cleaning and studying, the only productive thing I've done all day is register for this year's CHOC Walk. It is one of my favorite days of the year! Well, with literally 10 minutes until I need to stop procrastinating on getting ready for work... I am going to go feed Toby Kitten.
